You can’t escape the Hanged Man’s steady gaze when he appears for you in a reading. His eyes peer into the depths of your soul questioning, “What you waiting for?”
The Hanged Man Tarot card represents a pause. Stillness. Seeing life from a different perspective. All excellent things, in fact, qualities essential to growth. But what if you find yourself stuck, suspended like The Hanged Man?
Do you ever pace the house, avoid the elephant in the room and distract yourself with nothing? The Hanged Man may signal procrastination. For a author, it can mean dreaded writer’s block.
The Hanged Man often looms like a sign post. He lets you know things are about to get very interesting. After all, The Death card comes next and Death means big changes. Sometimes, your ideas are so big, grand and important, it is hard to know where to start. Once you make these changes, there’s no going back . . . this fear can be enough to keep many people stuck in a holding pattern for the much of their lives. But you aren’t many people are you?
If you pull the Hanged Man and find yourself stymied, your answer is to take a leap. Change up your scenery. Make an outline. Take a walk. Sign up for a class. Read an inspiring book. Pull a Tarot card and let the message in the card guide you. Do something, anything, even if you do it half heartedly. I promise, it will lead you somewhere . . .
Watch this Gwen Stephanie mini movie in what might just be the theme song for the Hanged Man . . . Gwen may be swimming in Hanged Man energy but with a leap of faith, she pulls herself right out of it. And so can you!
Sasha Graham Tarot Diva Blog – The Five of Pentacles
March 15, 2010
The Ides of March bear upon us, a spring Nor’easter screams through the canyons of New York City and I continue to be saddened by news of friends plagued with relationship trouble. Springtime equals growth but growth often accompanies unavoidable pain.
The Five of Pentacles is often understood as a perilous Tarot card, signifying a tough time, financial hardship and struggle.
The Five of Pentacles recalls the ups and downs of our relationships. All couples have their biorhythms, so to speak. When the Five of Pentacles appears, it suggests things are tough but you can weather the storm. These struggles are precisely the moments that define you as a couple. That with the bitter comes the sweet. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
The beauty and hope thriving within the Five of Pentacles card comes via the bright light shimmering through the stained glass window above the couple. Salvation is possible should they choose to seek it.
Should the the Five of Pentacles appear for you and you happen to be going through a tough time, let it stand as a reminder things will get better. You will make it through stronger, tougher and wiser.
This gorgeous Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush song and video is a perfect example of a Five of Pentacles moment. You may use this song as a reminder that hope and optimism thrives inside the murky and muddy Five of Pentacles.

Sasha Graham’s Tarot Diva Blog – A Queen of Cups Moment
March 8, 2010
The Queen of Cups is a woman whose greatest quality it the capacity to feel. She is deeply empathetic, emotional and may just be the ideal Tarot reader due to her depth of understanding. Should the Queen of Cups appear in a reading, she may represent qualities of yourself or another person in your life.
The Queen of Cups is connected to element of water and all of the emotional fluidity water represents.
Why don’t you embody The Queen of Cups today? For five minutes? Why not? All you have to do is forget yourself. Feel the world around you and become enraptured . . .
Let your emotions carry you away. Skinny dip. Listen to Italian opera. Watch your favorite film. Daydream. Eat chocolate. Kiss deeply. Love thoroughly. And remember La Dolce Vita!
It is common among modern Tarot readers to interpret the Death Tarot card as heralding transformation. The end of a cycle which brings upon refreshing change. But every now and then, Death, unavoidable, tragic, early Death strikes our lives. One cannot but help but consider the Death card’s deeper implications.
What is Death’s gift to the living? In the midst of grief, sadness and sorrow, we spend those first days in suspended reality. Time stops. The fuzz and static of our regular life disappears. Friends and family move to the forefront. We consider life and how precious it is. We remember we will not live forever. That our time treading upon this earth is ever so short.
We would not want to remain in this state, nor should we. But when the Death card appears for you, it can be a gentle reminder to cherish the things that are truly important. The people, places and passions you want to embrace. A reminder to tell someone you love them. A reminder to do what is meaningful. A reminder to pay attention to the important stuff and to let that insignificant static and fuzz fade into the background. You are here. You are now. You are alive.
This is for you Timmy . . . taken too soon, my heart aches . . . I’ll never forget your sparkling eyes and the gift of having you in my life.
Sasha Graham Tarot Diva Blog – Major Tarot Mojo
March 3, 2010
Tarot’s Major Arcana cards signify moments of great importance, soul issues and tremendous turning points. If a slew of Major Arcana cards appear in a reading, it suggests your life is at a pivotal point of transformation. In other words – pay attention!
Tarot art and practice is having a Major moment right now. The next few years will bring an explosion of Tarot as it intertwines with the great leaps and bounds that technology affords us.
To illustrate my point, take a look at this marvelous Tarot video, created by Carrie Paris of Talking Tarot. You will see and hear a lot more from Carrie as she pushes the modern Tarot movement forward in an exciting, accessible way for each and every one of us. Tarot – it ain’t just your sidewalk gypsy anymore – phew!
The esoteric function of The Devil Tarot Card, as explained by my Tarot teachers at The Tarot School, is laughter. What does this mean? It means that when The Devil card appears in a reading, it potentially means a belly laughing good time! Think about it . . . no one has a better time than The Devil. Keep this in mind when he rears his raunchy head.
Yuck it up and check out the genius cards below. Created by Winston Rowntree the innovator behind Virus Comix.
I especially enjoy The Douchebag card . . . a reversed Knight perhaps? Thanks Winston!
